Event Description

Enter 'The Dyna', the energizing space cultivated by Toronto entertainer Dynesti. A fierce rapper, singer and dancer, her infectious spirit raises the vibe with a potent mix of audacious honesty, life lessons, liberation and humour. Immersed in Afro-Caribbean cultures, she blends neo-soul, conscious hip-hop and dancehall into 'royal hip-hop/soul with a dash of rudegyal'. Her songs, videos and electrifying performances in­vite audiences to feast on spicy POVs, engaging movements, and fresh fusionary sounds.

Dynesti emerged from six years in the shelter system and creative programs like SKETCH, RISE Edutainment, Manifesto, The Remix Project and Honey Jam to share stages with stars like Sean Paul, Dax and Talib Kweli. After 2021's 'Say Grace' EP, she cooked up the next instalment of her 'The Dyna' recording series. With the 'Breakfast' LP rolling out, she shares life-altering stories of love, womanhood, community and healing as a Black girl from a broken home.
