The Swiftsure Big Band, a dynamic 17 piece ensemble, featuring vocalist Brenda Morie, is a captivating ensemble that pays tribute to jazz and blues icons like Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Bessie Smith. Their performances transport audiences to the golden age of jazz with a delightful blend of classic jazz, swing, and blues. Brenda Morie's soulful voice brings a heartfelt touch to each song, honoring the legacy of these remarkable artists.
The Swiftsure Big Band delivers a musical journey filled with rich melodies and vibrant rhythms. With exceptional musicianship and Brenda Morie's captivating vocals, their performances are an unforgettable celebration of jazz's timeless beauty.
Swiftsure Big Band 's musical director is Gord Clemments with 50 plus years of experience and both Bachelor and master degrees in Music. Performance is an expert on all saxophones, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and piccolo. He has been a clinician for Buffet Crampon Clarinets and Keliworth Saxophones and served as a principal bass clarinetist and saxophone soloist with the Victoria Symphony.
