Freezer Burn Retrospective 2024

What does it mean to gather in the prairies, light up the night, and burn with purpose?

This short documentary captures my first experience at Freezer Burn, Alberta’s official Burning Man regional event. I arrived with a camera and left with stories—conversations with community members like the late Blaze, Kali Yuga, and visiting international burners, who shared their thoughts on what makes this gathering more than just a weekend in the woods.

Filmed among fire spinners, theme camps, and music stages, this piece is a tribute to the people who bring Freezer Burn to life—through creativity, community, and radical self-expression.
